heART of Houston video contest - share what you like and win cool stuff

The Houston Art Alliance is kicking off their heART of Houston video contest campaign today with a grand old heARTy party at HAA's space125 Gallery (3201 Allen Parkway) from 5:30 - 7:30pm.

Let's talk about who you are, deep down inside:

- Are you an artist or art lover wanting to pimp your fave artist?
- Are you a gallery junkie with a penchant for winning free stuff?
- Or are you one a freaky-freak with a camera on their head recording every move they make?

If you are one or all of the above, this video contest is for you. Take a 60-second clip interviewing, recording or describing your favorite artist (phone cameras, handheld camcorders, web cams work) and submit it for a community vote. You vote on your favorite videos and the artists and video submitters are up for prizes and eternal glory.

The idea is to share your own slice of Houston culture, promote area artists and have a great time while doing. Oh yeah, and win free stuff. We love free stuff.

There are 6 categories to submit a video for a chance to win some pretty sweet Artshound prize packages:

1. Visual Arts 2. Music 3. Dance 4. Theater 5. Written word 6. Craft
