The Institute for Sustainable Peace is hosting a discussion about community building in Houston through their World Cafe Dialogue program. The Institute is a Houston-based not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering sustainable peace vis-a-vis community building and education. The cafe dialogue program is your entree into the discussion.
The café dialogue setting aims to stimulate conversation among participants through rotating conversations. Four participants per table have conversations about the topic and associated discussion points. The folks then rotate from table-to-table with a goal of sharing their thoughts and further developing their points-of-view as the rotations continue.
So, would you be a good participant?
Per the Institute, participants "...value cooperation and collaboration over competition. Theirs is a spirit of inquiry open to perspectives and new ideas from others, even those from different disciplines, political affiliations and religious persuasions. They gently advocate their positions while demonstrating a willingness to have them be examined and challenged by others."
RSVP and show up at The Breakfast Klub this Thursday if you think you fit the bill.
