Friday Afternoon Video

In a dental-floss-thin segue from last week's Friday Afternoon Video, Houstonist brings you a rather infamous song from Ben Folds, who will be rocking Warehouse Live tonight with Missy Higgins.

A song originally performed by Dr. Dre off his landmark 1992 album, The Chronic, "Bitches Ain't Shit" was mostly intended as an attack on Dre's former bandmate, the late Eazy-E, that stoked the flames of the Death Row Records/"Roofless" Records feud through the use of lyrics that are best left unrepeated here.

Thirteen years later, Ben Folds made the rather bizarre decision to cover "Bitches Ain't Shit" and the single immediately shot up the charts as hipsters everywhere reveled in the irony of a skinny white guy singing gangsta rap while accompanied by a soulful piano and lilting harmonies. You can enjoy the irony for yourself below, but beware that the lyrics are rather NSFW.

...and if that bothers you, then what are you doing surfing Houstonist at work anyway, slacker?

As with last week, a special treat awaits you after the jump...

Makes you miss your collegiate a cappella days with The Whiffenpoofs, doesn't it? ...yeah, us neither.
