History Created

Barack Obama II

Houstonist Flickr pool contributor J-a-x took this picture during Barack Obama's campaign rally at the Toyota Center in February of this year.

On November 4th, nine months later -- the same amount of time it takes to create life -- our nation also created history by electing the first African-American to the office of President of the United States.

Barack Obama is expected to be sworn into his new position as President on January 20, 2009.

I find it highly ironic that you would associate the time it takes to create a human life with the election of Obama. The one who is so keen to eliminate life through the legalization of abortion. Your commentary is uncanny. How many months will it take to put the Freedom of Choice Act into effect? Maybe a second trimester worth?

Not sure if you are familiar with a little court case known as Roe v. Wade but abortion is already legal in this country and it has been for the past 35 years.

Obama was a mere 12 years old when the nine justices on the SCOTUS made this decision, so perhaps you should direct your ire elsewhere.

And anyway, it's technically 10 months to create a life, as 40 weeks is the full-term gestation.

Also: wah wah.

OK, I am getting really sick of this line of reasoning:

"The one who is so keen to eliminate life through the legalization of abortion."

People who want to keep abortion legal (Obama included, per his own comments) are not "keen to eliminate life". That is childish and doesn't help move us towards a solution. Instead, let's talk about how we can work together to improve education on contraception and reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies.
