More Culture Than a Petri Dish

Want to support the local arts scene in Houston, but wish there was more liquor involved in your patronage? Then head over to Beaver's Icehouse tonight for the kickoff of Cultured Cocktails from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sponsored by New Living and Spacetaker, this series of happy hours held each Thursday will benefit a different arts non-profit group each week.

This week's Cultured Cocktails will benefit the Fresh Arts Coalition, a network of arts groups in Houston that includes the Blaffer Gallery, Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Suchu Dance, DiverseWorks and the Orange Show. A portion of the proceeds from drink sales will go to Fresh Arts to support their work. Houstonist recommends Beaver's "dam good" rosemary rickeys and pisco sours.

Thank you for the shout out, Houstonist!!! We at Spacetaker hope the event becomes a regular round table (with a round of cocktails) for artists and administrators each week. Appreciate the mention!
