- The Fort Bend meningitis case is viral and not bacterial, which is a good thing - not as life threatening, but parents are still being encouraged to have their children vaccinated
- Houston-based Kaos Worldwide has been awarded a contract to outfit the Army with apparel
- Playing with a gun resulted in someone getting shot
- Bad idea: lead police on a high speed chase. Worse idea: drive on the wrong side of the freeway while doing it.
- There's no danger of high speed driving through downtown as many of the lights are still out of sync following Ike

- Today's weather: The coolness continues and so do the low temps as the mercury only reaches 74 today with a low of 59. There's a chance of rain, but you should expect only clouds.
