Give your Lover Something Sketchy for Christmas

121208_drsketchy.jpgHandmade gifts are always a great idea. But why go through the endless hours of knitting an ill-fitting sweater when you could give handmade art instead. You aren't a very good artist? Well, that don't matta, it's the thought that counts. And besides, practice makes perfect, which is why you should attend Dr. Sketchy this Sunday.

Dr. Sketchy is a monthly event "where cabaret meets art school." Instead of art school students drawing staid old nude models in uninspired poses, Dr. Sketchy joins budding artists of all degrees with burlesque dancers, roller girls and models with attitude. Throw in some music and the cocktails at Avant Garden and you have Rodin with a twist.

This month's Sketchy will feature the sexiest Santa who ever did shimmy down a chimney. Dr. Sketchy is also giving away a copy of the holiday burlesque DVD Yule-A-Go-Go to one lucky commenter on their website. Now what could be a sexier present than that?

December Dr. Sketchy
Admission: $10
Date and Time: Sunday, December 14, 2-6 p.m.
Location: Upstairs at Avant Garden, 411 Westheimer, 77006
