Moody Gardens Festival of Lights

121908_festivaloflights.jpgIt's difficult to get into the Christmas spirit when temperatures are still in the mid-70s, but Houstonist has a solution for even the most die-hard Grinches. Drive down to Galveston tonight to witness the Moody Gardens Festival of Lights.

More than a million lights decorate dozens of festive wintery scenes. Follow a walking trail of nearly half a mile to see sights including the Magic Castle, Arctic Express, Fantasy Forest, Wild Africa and the Tropical Jungle. You can also get your picture taken with Santa, partake in some holiday shopping, and go ice skating at "the area’s only outdoor ice rink."

Tickets start at $3.95, and additional tickets can be purchased for attractions including paddleboat rides, IMAX films and more.
