"B-I-G P-O-P-P-A..." rapped the man also known as Christopher Wallace. The Brooklyn native used his talent to transform himself into The Notorious B.I.G. He was one of the most recognizable figures in hip hop at the time of his murder in 1997. The murder, which is still officially unsolved, is surrounded by many theories regarding the cause, conspiracy and connections to Tupac Shakur's murder.
Biggie's story premieres in movie theaters nationwide today with the release of Notorious. The hype around the film's debut has lead to surge in interest on the music. Radio stations have been playing B.I.G. all day today.
DJs are putting their own spin on the tunes as well. One such artist is Houston's Dave Wrangler. Check out his website for track downloads, some of which were reviewed on The Culture of Me.
