Change, Hope, Free Food: Where to Go on Inauguration Day

011809_hope.jpg Want to watch the historic swearing in of the 44th president this Tuesday, but don't know where to go? Like many of us at Houstonist, you will probably be stuck at work and will have to sneak away to watch the inauguration. If you prefer to whoop it up that night, you might find yourself light-of-wallet for some of the galas ($150 per person?!?!?).

Fret not, we put together a list of daytime events by the area of town and evening events to suit the budget of anyone looking to commemorate the occasion. You'll be drinking champagne in the parish hall, eating Obama chili and "praise dancing" all over the city.

Events are for Tuesday, January 20th, and some of the evening events require you to RSVP. Check out the details plus a handy map after the jump.
