Daily-ist Thursday: Irreverent Art

lizhillone.jpg Thirty years ago, Liz Hill was juggling her time between running her own interior design business and playing mom and wife to her family. Then she decided to go back to art school.

Hill had attended the Los Angeles Art Center School at age 17, and when she went back to school, at the University of Houston, she was able to study under both John Alexander and Gael Stack. A few years later she was selling her own paintings, including watercolors, oils and portraits.

Now living in The Woodlands, she has also taken on the medium of collage. Her latest show, on display at The Jung Center of Houston is called "The Irreverent Art of Liz Hill." About her art, she says:

I see contemporary art as fast moving and immediate, I find working in mixed media to be the method that best suites this effort I wish my art to express my time.

Tonight is the last night for the gallery to be opened late this week, and the show ends tomorrow.
