H-Town Rock

For the Week of February 2nd-4th, 2009

Is it really February already? We have no clue where January has gone (and why it had to leave so quickly), but it seems that we do have some great music coming through town on Groundhog's Day to usher in the new month. Forget Punxsutawney Phil - we'll take M83 any day!

Let's be honest - while we here at H-Town Rock do adore the beautiful sounds of M83, we're not too keen on braving the crowds at Verizon Wireless who are there to see The Killers. Thus, we'll be hanging out with our favorite fashionista over at Numbers to hear the blissful indie-pop of Broken Social Scene. Oh, those crazy Canucks and their arts and music collectives...

Broken Social Scene and The Lymbyc Systym at Numbers
The Killers and M83 at Verizon Wireless Theater
The Octanes and Glover Gill at The Continental Club

Tuesday, February 3rd
The Umbrella Man at The Continental Club

Wednesday, February 4th
Johnny Goudie at Cactus Music
Patrice Pike at McGonigel's Mucky Duck
Straight Line Stitch, Occam's Razor, Ethreal, and Bound By Chaos at The Meridian
Whiskey Boat and Ragged Hearts at The Continental Club
