So you want to develop some working knowledge of art, but you're afraid of coming off like a Modern Jackass. The Contemporary Arts Museum of Houston has your solution.
CAMH has organized an Art Essay Reading Group with the hopes of teaching people that art discussions can be both educational and fun. Call the CAMH at call (713) 284-8257, or show up early, to get your copy of this month's essay, "Negative Images: How a History of Shadows Might Illuminate the Shadows of History” from Making Memory Matter: Strategies of Remembrance in Contemporary Art by Lisa Saltzman.
The essay will be discussed in relation to works at the CAMH, and coffee and wine will be served.
