According to Chicago Tribune writer Phil Rogers, the Houston team is looking "to plan a sneak attack on the Cubs" by trying to sign New Caney, TX native Adam Dunn to a one-year deal.
Dunn's career batting average of .247 isn't too appealing, but it's the five straight years of 100 walks, 40 home runs and 90 RBI that gets your attention.
Dunn is patient at the plate and that's rare for a power hitter and yes, Houstonist knows Dunn stirkes a lot, but his high walk total and an appealing on-base percentage that is consistently in the high 300's negates that.
With spring training less than a week away, Dunn will be looking for a suitor and maybe some hometown cooking just might be what the native Texan is looking for. Stay tuned.
