Daily-ist Tuesday: Anime at the Alamo

021009_animealamo.jpg If you've never been to the Alamo Drafthouse (1000 W Oaks Mall, 77082) let Houstonist introduce you to the concept. It's a movie theater... and bar. With food. You sit at a table in front of a traditional theater screen and you have a server at your call throughout the duration of the film.

You might be thinking "That sounds expensive." Tonight, at least, you'd be wrong. Because every Tuesday night at the Alamo, FUNimation sponsors Anime at the Alamo. Each week, a different Japanese animated film or series is shown, and tickets to the event are free.

Tonight's show will be Shin Chan Season 2 - Part 1, which was featured on the Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. A full list of this month's screenings can be found at the theater's website.
