Daily-ist Wednesday: Gwen Zepeda Reading and Signing

021809_houstoncover.jpg Gwen's Petty Judgmental, Evil Thoughts has long been one of our favorite Houston-based blogs, maybe the first blog based out of the Bayou City we ever read. And the title is no lie — Gwendolyn Zepeda blogs about her annoying slugging companions in one particularly interesting post.

Zepeda is also somewhat of a local celebrity in the Hispanic community. Her first book, To the Last Man I Slept with and All the Jerks Just Like Him was praised by the Spanish EFE news agency as "an energetic and different voice with the potential to transform Latino literature and rid it of all its bad habits and clichés.” She's also been featured as a guest at Nuestra Palabra's Edward James Olmos Latino Book and Family Festival

Zepeda recently released a childrens' book called Growing Up With Tamales and will celebrate the release of her first novel Houston, We Have A Problema with a reading and booksigning tonight at the Borders Books on Kirby and Alabama.
