Blog-ist: Is This Houston?

Is This Houston? is a photoblog about Houston. That's it, really.

Except that's not it. The blog's owner, Pankaj, takes all his photos with a cameraphone (a Blackberry Flip 8220). And that's part of what makes the site amazing and interesting — the photos look nothing like standard point-and-shoots. Just look at the post-Ike photos. Pankaj is good at composing interesting images, but he's also good at being in the right place at the right time. Houstonist is still wondering if it's a matter of luck, or a matter of having a camera with you at all hours of the day.

We first found his blog by searching Google images for pictures of the Elysian Viaduct. He seems to like repetition and symmetry. And if you want to learn how to take better photos with your cameraphone, here are tips from the master.
