H-Town Rock

For the Weekend of March 12th - 15th, 2009

First things first: H-Town Rock wants to congratulate Super Happy Fun Land for taking care of business and making a fantastic return to the scene. SHFL has always been one of the prime places in Houston to see all manner of crazy, insane, artistic, and musical wackiness, so we're glad to see it back and stronger than ever. All in all, we are excited for this weekend, as there's a host of great shows around town, starting with the Papermoons show on Thursday at Walter's, continuing through the excellent acts playing at The Mink on Friday, progressing onto T.I.'s set at Arena Theater on Saturday, and concluding with Football, etc.'s performance at SHFL on Sunday. Hooray for Houston music!

This looks to be the best day of the entire weekend. To begin the day, (as in, around Noon or so) there's The Center for the Study of Human Party Virus Annual Symposium/Fundraiser over at Last Concert Café, complete with performances from some of our favorite local Houston acts. After a decent dinner, we have a few choices in front of us: we can get our metal on with our crazy roommate at Fitzgerald's, head over to the Mucky Duck to watch some of our lady friends fawn over Bob Schneider, or make our way to the House Of Blues to figure out exactly what Billy Bob Thornton is doing with a touring rock back. However, despite all of those prime options for musical merriment, nothing should compare to the show that T.I. will put on at Arena Theater.

Adele at Warehouse Live
Billy Bob Thornton with The Boxmasters at House of Blues
Bob Schneider Band at McGonigel's Mucky Duck
