::Movies Houstonians Love::

Back again, one of our favorite film series at the MFA, Movies Houstonians Love. A evening of film, shared through some of Houston's who's whos.

Tonight film, A Man for All Seasons , is shared and introduced by Anthony Freud, Houston Grand Opera´s General Director and CEO.

Introducing Freud will be always eccentric and fellow Houstonian, Lynn Watt, the MFAH film committee founding chair.

And introducing Lynn Watt...we kid, we kid.

"Adapted from Robert Bolt´s play (by Bolt himself), this is the tale of Sir Thomas More (Paul Scofield), the Catholic statesman who opposed King Henry VIII´s (Robert Shaw) self-appointment as spiritual leader of the Church of England, all because the Pope wouldn´t grant his wife an annulment. Also starring Wendy Hiller, Leo McKern, Vanessa Redgrave, Orson Welles, and Susannah York." — Empire (UK magazine)

They've also got a spiffy new site for the film series. Check out other films and times.
