Imagine the rainforests of ancient MeosAmerica, the high, dry early Mayan pyramids and sounds of wildlife.

Now imagine a contemporary dance troupe evoking such histories, through the use of video, music, storytelling and movement.

Georgia's Core Performance Company hopes to transport you to such a time and place with their performance tonight at the Museum of Fine Arts, I Unravel Myself and Make the World.

The dance was inspired by the MFAH's extensive collection of Pre-Columbian art and artifacts. The performance is part of the Artful Thursdays series at the MFAH, which is open late and is free every Thursday.

Core Performance Company: I Unravel Myself and Make the World
Admission: Free
Date and Time: 6:30 p.m. tonight
Location: MFAH Brown Auditorium, 1001 Bissonnet Street
