The cost of landfill space in Texas is cheaper than the cost to recycle products. I'm not justifying Houston being low on this list but did you know the amount of return on recycled raw materials has dropped exponentially in the past few months? At a business I am involved with, we just recycled SIX TONS of cardboard which we used to get $600-$700 for and now... $87. Also, I heard that Seattle just started citywide composting.
