#1 Chicken Rice & Seafood - 4621 Almeda
Someone in the Almeda Place area is really unhappy with the folks at #1 Chicken Rice and Seafood restaurant. 4621 Almeda was originally owned by Kentucky Fried Chicken, was a Church's Chicken in the mid-seventies, but for as long as we can remember it has been adorned with the orange and yellow seventies-era color scheme and the large angular chicken on the façade. In the past few days someone (who we assumed patronized the restaurant) started leaving flyers on cars in the surrounding neighborhood - the text reads:
ALERT!!! PROTEST AGAINST NUMBER 1 CHICKEN RICE & SEAFOOD
WE THE BLACK COMMUNITY PROTESTING AGAINST
"NUMBER 1 CHICKEN RICE & SEAFOOD

LET'S STOP THE DISRESPECT OF OUR
PEOPLE FROM THIS FRANCHISE
(PLEASE CIRCULATE BY WORD OF
MOUTH)

IT'S TIME FOR OUR PEOPLE TO UNITE

The best part, aside from the lack of proofreading, is the picture of Obama waving in front of the White House. So what's going on? Does anyone have any first-hand experiences or knowledge of this? There's no endorsement from anyone or any organization on the paper, so we'd love to hear your input! And here is the flyer for your perusal: link
