::Behind the Scenes with Fashion Designer Valentino at the MFA::
Ah, who better to introduce us to take us through the life and times of Valentino than Houston's own eternal fashion icon and city advocate, Lynn Wyatt.
Join Mrs. Wyatt and director Matt Tyrnauer tonight at the MFA as they highlight behind-the-scenes moments from the new film Valentino: The Last Emperor, based on the life of legendary fashion designer Valentino Garavani. Director Matt Tyrnauer, who is also a special correspondent for Vanity Fair, presents film clips and participates in an onstage conversation with Lynn Wyatt (founding chair of the MFAH film committee) and journalist Clifford Pugh. The evening includes a question-and-answer session with the audience.
Valentino: The Last Emperor opens theatrically in Houston on April 24 at the Angelika Film Center.
Matt Tyrnauer is a special correspondent at Vanity Fair magazine, where he has worked since 1992. His feature articles include profiles of Martha Stewart (the August 2005 post-prison cover story, and a 2001 profile), Valentino Garavani, Siegfried and Roy, Tommy Hilfiger, Philippe Starck, Frank Gehry, producer Robert Evans, actor Greg Kinnear, and writer Bret Easton Ellis.
Lynn Wyatt is an internationally renowned philanthropist and fashion icon. She has been a member of the "Valentino family" for 30 years and is a passionate movie lover, serving as founding chair of the MFAH film committee.
Clifford Pugh was the style critic at the Houston Chronicle, where he interviewed every major fashion designer and attended Valentino´s last ready-to-wear show in Paris in 2007. Pugh currently writes a weekly column for the Examiner newspapers on fashion, society, and Houston lifestyles.
