::Cinco De Mayo Margarita Competition::
050309_cincodemayo.jpg Quick history lesson: Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of the Mexican victory over the French army at the Batalla de Puebla on May 5, 1862.

What better way to celebrate that historic victory than with a Best Margarita contest? The American Institute of Architects Houston Chapter, the Houston Zoo and Spacetaker Houston present the first Margarita Batalla de Puebla at Vintage Lounge. Houston area non-profits will battle it out for the title of best margarita while raising awareness of their programs. Contestants include:

Young Friends of CanCare - CanCare of Houston Chapter
Women of Wardrobe - Dress for Success Houston Chapter
Alzies - National Alzheimer's Association Houston Chapter
The Flock - Houston Zoo
Redbuds - Trees for Houston
ArCH/ArchiTypes
Spacetaker Houston
Childbuilders NightShift Houston Chapter

With all that free-flowing tequila, you might find yourself a bit overhung on Seis de Mayo. Just tell your boss you can't come in because of the swine flu.
