LA mayor declines wager made by Bill White

Mayor White, all dressed up for the Rockets game.
We were pretty disappointed to hear that there will be no embarrassing or silly mayoral bet on the Rockets/Lakers playoff series, but we're proud that it's through no fault of our own. Mayor White made an offer that we definitely wouldn't refuse: breakfast tamales from Villa Arcos, lunch at Frenchy's and, very appropriately, dinner at Yao's. Looks like Mayor Villaraigosa over in Los Angeles doesn't have quite the confidence in his team (or maybe his city's dining options) that Mayor White does --- he declined to take the bet. What gives, LA? Does Mayor Villaraigosa really think the Lakers are bound to lose like Miya Shay suggests?

Meanwhile, our Mayor covers Rockets games via Twitter. We think Houston's already won.

Not even an offer of an In & Out Burger? C'mon California...

What, Villaraigosa is too good for Frenchy's? Bah!

I've eaten at Frenchy's twice in the past seven days. Can't be the King's Special.

I love Bill White. I'm sure gonna miss him.
