This took us literally tens of seconds to create.
The blueprint is this: Anyone who's interested can submit his or her reinterpretation of the Mona Lisa, and three of the entries will be picked to help represent the bar on its website, coasters, napkins and the national notice that'll be sent out when the place opens (unfortunately, a spot in the Louvre isn't included). You can do anything you like to the lady with the mystic smile and your work can be in any static media, but the final product must be a high-res digital file no larger than 12 x 12 inches so it can be submitted digitally. The winners will also get prizes including a gym membership, food and drink credits at Monnalisa and weekends at the Sorella and its sister property in San Antonio, the Valencia.
Entries are due May 29; e-mail stuartr (at) studiocommunications (dot) com for guidelines and info on how to submit. And before you ask, no, you may not copy Houstonist's entry.

Missed Connections: Gefilte Fish...and "Chain Connections"

yeah, but all entries become property of Monnalisa, so if you submit to the contest they own yer shit.
