Undermanned. Undersized. Under dog.
These words mean nothing to the Houston Rockets who forced a Game 7 after a 95-80 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at the Toyota Center Thursday night.
''For the last two days, all I've heard is that we weren't going back to L.A.,'' Rockets coach Rick Adelman told reporters. ''Our guys in the locker room didn't believe that."
The Rockets, led by Luis Scola's 14 first quarter points, bolted to a Texas-sized 21-3 run to start the game. A lead which they held wire-to-wire.
The Rockets were clicking on all facets of the game as they refused to quit as they continue to prove to all the naysayers that this team never had a chance, even before Yao MIng was lost for the season after Game 3.
Aaron Brooks once again came up big with 26 points, Luis Scola had 24 and Carl Landry contributed with 15 off the bench.
Now, the Houston team heads back to Hollywood for a do or die game on Sunday which forces all the pressure on the world on Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.
It's going to be a dog fight. Either way, the Houston team has made this city proud. They've captured the attention of all NBA fans as they look to make one of the biggest upsets in NBA history happen on Sunday.
