Craft beer dinner at Voice 5/28

052309_beers.jpg Take it from Houstonist: Recession dining sucks. Not that there's anything wrong with ordering off the dollar menu and rediscovering the joys of ramen once in a while, but seriously, aren't there days when you really want an amazing dinner at one of Houston's best restaurants? Yeah, that's what we thought.

On Thursday, May 28, Voice, Chef Michael Kramer's restaurant at Hotel Icon, will host a craft beer dinner featuring a five-course tasting menu paired with brews from around the U.S. Highlights include a Bellecreek Farm egg with house-made prosciutto, spring onion, pickled shimeji and gribiche vinaigrette, paired with Breckenridge Agave Wheat; local suckling pig with celeriac, caramelized salsify, baby carrot and maple grain mustard sauce, paired with Stone Smoked Porter; and an Anson Mills waffle with bacon ice cream, St. Arnold sabayon, local strawberry and Bliss maple syrup, paired with Ommegang Three Philosophers. In case you didn't catch that: bacon ice cream. Enough said.

Festivities begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, and the dinner will set you back $75. Reservations are required, but we hear there are still seats available; to claim yours, call 832.667.4470.
