Thursday Daily-ist: Blues Jam

052809_guitar.jpg The Big Easy Social and Pleasure Club is one of Houston's divey-est and awesomest bars. It's a great place to hear authentic blues and zydeco. And if you really like authentic blues, you'll love BluesHammer. the chance to get on stage and jam with other music-lovers without the pressure of having to go to band practice every week.

On the last Thursday of each month The Big Easy hosts an open-mic night of sorts during which budding musicians can join the stage with an established host band. The event is cohosted by the Houston Blues Society.

So bring your guitar, have a little liquid courage before the show, and hop on stage.
