We got a twofer for ya this evening.

First, La Carafe, Houston's oldest bar, or commercial building, or whatever the qualifier is, is hosting a First Thursday Wine Tasting event. $15 for three glasses of wine, along with assorted artisanal cheeses. The bar opens at noon but most people get there around happy hour for the tasting. Remember, La Carafe is a cash-only establishment.

Date and Time: Starts at noon today

After you fill up on cheese and wine, head over to Boheme in the Montrose for Cultured Cocktails, which tonight benefits Inprint.

We've long been fans of the non-profit's reading series, which has featured authors such as Jeffrey Eugenides and Marjane Satrapi. And at least two Houstonists have taken writing workshops at Inprint's tiny house in the Montrose.

Inprint is celebrating it's 25th year, and proceeds from tonight's drink sales go towards funding more readings as well as programs for young writers.
