H-Town Rock

For the Week of June 8th-10th, 2009

Well, it seems that the Rock Music Gods actually read last Wednesday's post and decided to bless us Houston with a slate of quality shows in the first half of this week. Not only does the set at The Mink look excellent, but we rarely pass up a chance to see the wonderful Benjamin Wesley perform. On Tuesday, we're not sure which is more bizarre - that someone is actually paying Third Eye Blind to play a concert in the year 2009 or that someone thought that band names like Organic Health Monkey and Statutory Snape would be great ideas (both at SHFL). With Wednesday comes the opportunity to head out to Warehouse Live to once again partake of the music from one of our favorite local sensations - The Tontons. What are you waiting for? Go find some live music!

We were at Better Than Ezra on Sat and will be hitting Third Eye Blind on Tues. It's 1996 and we're loving every minute!

Actually a band name like Statutory Snape is a good idea when a band writes it's songs about Harry Potter and their primary goal is to promote literacy. just a thought.
