H-Town Rock

For the Week of June 22nd-24th, 2009

jlewisat.jpg Phew! Did you survive the weekend? We barely did, so we are sort of glad this week starts with a slow night. It appears that on Monday only the "coolest block in Houston" is having shows. You'll find us at The Mink for a free show curated by Super Happy Fun Land - let's face it, we spent too much this weekend, so we've got to be frugal.

On Tuesday we won't judge you for going to catch the talented Talib Kweli at The Meridian, but we will be forced to if you show up at the Toyota Center instead. Again, we're trying to be thrifty, so you'll find us nearby at Super Happy Fun Land for what promises to be a good punk offering including local loveables Muhammad Ali and Baltimore's Double Dagger.

Which brings us to Wednesday - we'd love to hear your reports from The Mink and Mango's, or if you're planning to reminisce, the Clapton-Winwood extravaganza at Toyota Center [remember this one time in '76, at tha Gaa'den, there was this drunk chick and we toh-tally made out?]. Seriously, let us know how that goes. We're planning on hauling out a couple shekels to see one of our favorite red-headed songstresses, Jenny Lewis, at Warehouse Live with Ohio's Heartless Bastards.

As always, let us know in the comments where you'll be and what we missed.
