Astros first baseman Lance Berkman belted his13th home run of the season today in the second inning against Kansas City Royals pitcher Brian Bannister to give him 1,001 career RBI.

Berkman just becomes the third Astro in franchise history to surpass the 1,000 RBI plateau joining Jeff Bagwell (1,529) and Craig Biggio (1,175).
This is the second milestone Berkman has reached within the past two weeks. On June 13, Berkman hit his 300th career home run against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
