Houston Hits Record High

Stay cool, Houston
108. We're not talking about a Nolan Ryan fastball or Mario Williams jetting down Interstate 40; we're talking about heat, Houston.

The National Weather Service issued a heat warning in the Bayou City today after the heat index hit 108 for the second consecutive day and it looks like it will be a third day come Friday.

The actual temperature today was 104, a new high for June in Houston.

Do what you can to stay cool. It looks like the triple digit heat is here to stay until Saturday. It was brought upon a high pressure system north of the Lone Star state last week.

Want Houstonist's recommendation? Stay inside and enjoy the cool A/C, hit up the swimming pools or kick it on down to Mam's House of Ice in the Heights and have an ice, cold snow cone.

Stay cool, Houston!
