David Byrne's Bike Ride

Thanks to a reader for sending us this tip:

David Byrne posted a blog about his visit to Houston: http://journal.davidbyrne.com/2009/06/061809-houston-land-of-the-free.html

It might be old news to those of you who follow Byrne religiously, but after playing at Jones Hall here in town, David posted a blog entry about his visit to Houston. It seems Byrne was crazy enough to take his bike out in the oppressive June heat and ride west on Dallas street. It's a ride we've undertaken many times, so it is quite interesting to read Byrne's take on Houston and the peculiar sights of this particular route. We are going to label this one recommended reading, whether you are a David Byrne fan or not. Go check it out, and thank you again, dear reader!

"This very out of place structure somehow lingers, like a fart left by someone no longer in an elevator."

Brilliant! I've been looking for a way to describe the Fed Reserve branch on Allen Pkwy for years!
