H-Town Rock

For the Week of July 13th - 15th, 2009

zeeavi.jpg We trust that everyone had a good weekend and made it back to the grind safely. Our weekend was abundant in music, so we'll forgive this week's light calendar.

Monday, we might just stay in: bake cookies, clean the house, write our own songs, all of the above sound like good options. We trust there will be plenty of kids turning out for Big B and Karate High School, but unless there are real ninjas attacking the crowd Houstonist is going to pass on it.

Well would you look at that! The Meridian is having a show that we might actually be interested in on Tuesday - truthfully we're more interested in opening act Zee Avi, but Pete Yorn is no slouch. We've been told by a reliable source that we need to be at Mango's on Wednesday to catch the unique comedic stylings of Neil Hamburger. If you're willing to brave suburbia, Ace Enders writes some catchy pop-ridden indie rock, and if you fancy reggae then stop in to The Meridian.

Sorry, Houstonist feels a little disoriented - we just mentioned that place twice in one H-Town Rock. Tell us where you're going to be this week, it'll make us feel better.
