H-Town Rock

For the Week of July 20th - 22nd, 2009

somanydynamos.jpg We've got a lot going on, so please forgive us if we just dive straight in this week.

On Monday, Super Happy Fun Land is playing host to a trio of one-man bands of which Uno Lady strikes us as particularly interesting. Mango's is sure to be hot and sweaty and full of kids, and Numbers will be drowning in some heavy Southern rock.

We checked out Tuesday's lineups and while there's no one show we'd really like to see, both Kid Chicago and The Dee Use sound pretty interesting, so we'll probably wind up at Super Happy Fun Land if we go out at all.

So let's say you missed your chance to buy an overpriced ticket to see Coldplay on Wednesday. You could hunt down a scalper and pay even more to see Coldplay, or you could just drive out and sit on the lawn outside the pavilion to hear them. Or you could join Houstonist at Mango's to watch the danceable math rock entity known as So Many Dynamos.

Let's hear it, Houston - where will you be?
