Houstonist Bartender: Stormy Weather

Yes, the Houstonist Bartender is back! This weeks edition is an ode to the horrific hot and dry weather we have been having of late. Those isolated thunderstorms that allegedly roll through our 600 square miles have been completely missing our headquarters. Though we were treated to a spectacular light and sound show, albeit a rainless one, recently. Have a few of these and choreograph your very own rain dance, it can't hurt (just try not to scare the neighbors with a nekkid version - unless that's how they roll). We may actually wash the car - that almost always does the trick!

Stormy Weather

2 ounces dark rum (we currently like Myer's)
10 ounces ginger beer
a squeeze of lime juice

Combine in a stein, using ice cold ginger beer, or add some crushed ice (if you ice it, drink fast....lest it gets all watered down). Or, use a "tea" glass and garnish with a lime wedge.

As we are prone to remind you - please do not be a dumbass and drive after a few of these. There are no internets in the clink. Call a friend, call a cab or twist off at the house, if you must.
