Houstonist Was There: Terry Farrell Fund Firefighter's Benefit

Firefighters? Check.

Tons-o-booze? Check.

Tasty little finger foods? Check.

This, fellow Houstonians, was the simple, yet pleasurable recipe for the Firefighter’s Benefit in Seabrook on Friday night (August 14th). Houstonist was there, talking to the charmingly foul-mouthed New York firefighters pushing the great cause, dancing to the smooth sounds of the Beatles and drinking whiskey, rum, tequila, cognac and bourbon. Luckily, the night did not end with vomit, but with the close of the silent auction that included several celebrity customized/autographed guitars and a fire helmet from September 11th.

The Bay Area Community Center, sadly, had plenty of room for more, but despite the less than stellar attendance, the mood was cheerful, if not a little intoxicating. Terry Farrell’s brother, Brian Farrell ended the benefit by announcing the winners of the silent auction and thanking all in attendance for helping to raise money for Harris County Firefighters and their families--in all, a total of $7,500.
