W 18th St. home showcase

W 18th St. townhouses near Beall St.
If you live in the Heights you may have noticed the twin townhouses that were born over a year ago but were never finished. They are located on W 18th St, and one of them has been recently completed. Its ugly and decaying sibling, however, is still next door waiting naked in embarrassment for someone to cover her up or put her out of her misery. Don't let the warped wood scare you off, though - it's nothing some stucco (or EIFS) perhaps, won't fix! Everything looks pretty normal on Google maps, but take a (current) closer look!

DJ Designs & Development, LLC out of Spring, TX started these things in 2007 and the finished unit is owned by Juan C. Ballivian (this guy?!). Since the Commercial State Bank of El Campo has owned the unfinished unit since May of 2008, though, we aren't sure who will be finishing/demolishing it or when.

Born? Or, puked up? The scourge of the Heights.

I have watched this project for over a year and even as IKE reached out to Houston this pile of wood looked as though it were rotting. I can not believe they would even take on the liability of dressing it one of them up and selling it. Both units should have been torn down and rebuilt. How did it pass City Inspection?
