H-Town Rock

For the Week of August 31st - September 2nd, 2009

collectivesoul.jpg It's that time again, Houston. There's not much on the calendar, but we'll make do until the weekend. Let's put some shows in your to-do list.

Monday we're going to catch The Tontons at House of Blues - this is an early show that we just found out about, and the good ol' City of Houston has some folks shooting footage for a promotional video. It's free, and to be quite honest, H-Town Rock hasn't put in an appearance at the HOB yet - we'll rectify that this week.

Cactus Music has a rare Tuesday evening performance that we might drop in to see. Then we plan to plunk down all the change we've scraped together and go see Collective Soul, again at House of Blues. [Or, we'll pop over to The Mink, we hear they'll be showing Batman.]

Wednesday finds The Orange Show back up and running, but Houstonist plans to drop in on the sweatiest venue in town and catch local indie darlings Young Mammals.

We're afraid that's it until the weekend rolls around. Be sure to let us know if we're missing anything.
