Houstonist Bartender: Cruzan Lemonade

Ahoy! Houston, tomorrow is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! We were sussing out some rum recipes and the fine folks at Cruzan provided a good one. Perfect for watching some college football and yelling pirate-isms at the television. Shiver me timbers, the Cougars are off this week resting up from their huge win over the OSU Cowboys. AARRRRR, University of Texas is playing Texas Tech tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. and the mateys at Rice are tackling OSU tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. The Aggies take on Utah State at 6:00 p.m., as well. Whip up some of these delicious cocktails tomorrow afternoon and prepare a fine list of pirate insults to lob at the tv. Yeah, it sounds retarded - but, if you impose a "pirate talk only" rule, it'll be damn entertaining!!

Cruzan Lemonade

1 1/2 oz Cruzan Estate Light Rum
Lime wedges
Lemon-Lime Soda

Pour rum over ice in a tall boy glass, fill with soda and squeeze a lime wedge over the cocktail and toss it in.

Suggested terms for football use:

"Stick that bilge rat ye land lubber!"
"Ahoy - TOUCHDOWN"
"Sack that scalawag, jackass!"
