  • Vespas and vintage motorcycles will descend on Houston for the resurrected Rockers Vs Mods weekend. Live music all weekend, hipsters showing off their rides, and more. In case you're wondering what that buzzing sound is.

FRIDAY

  • 7:30 p.m.: Downtown and a Movie featuring Houstonist's most favorite fucked-up family tale, The House of Yes. Free, at Disco Green, 1500 McKinney.
  • 8 p.m.: See comedien Greg Behrend at Houston Improv with a special 2-for-1 ticket price. Say "Comedy.com" when you order your tickets and get two for $20. Houston Improv Comedy Club, 7620 Katy Freeway.

SATURDAY

  • 11 a.m.: Talk Transportation with Gene Locke Social Media Summit, at the Gene Locke Volunteer Office, 3710 Travis. Free.
  • 4 p.m.: "Let's Go To The Moon," part of the fall lecture series at the MFAH. This lecture focuses on a new exhibit celebrating the lunar landing. Free with $7 museum admission.
  • 6 p.m.: Sketches and Pints with Dr. Sketchy at Coffee Groundz, 2503 Bagby St. Try your hand at drawing, buy prints, and watch other sketchers in action. Free.

Where's my Sept 25-27 Weekendist? What am I to do?

Opera Under the Stars at Bayou Bend:
"A Fiddler´s Tale" by Wynton Marsalis
(Saturday, September 26 / rain date September 27)

8:00 p.m.

Bayou Bend and Opera Vista, an innovative opera company based in Houston, team up for a third time on this popular event. "A Fiddler´s Tale," by Wynton Marsalis, tells the story of a musician who sells her soul to a record producer. The music is suffused with blues and jazz, befitting Marsalis´s New Orleans heritage. Bring a folding chair or blanket and enjoy this memorable evening of music and beauty under the stars on the Diana Lawn.

Gates open at 7:15 p.m.
performance begins at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets: $25, $5 discount to MFAH members, students, and seniors 65 + with ID. Tickets available in advance on the Bayou Bend website or at door the night of event, space permitting. No refunds. No outside food or drink (except water) permitted; wine, beer, sodas, and bottled water will be available for purchase.

12pm, Miller Outdoor Theatre, Marvelous China - A Multi Art Show from China
A five hour multi-art show that includes folk dance, traditional opera, acrobats, chorus, oriental musical instruments, Kung Fu, ethnic costume shows and much more!
