Houstonist Bartender: Cougar Cocktail

Happy Friday, Houston! It's like fall outside and we've had to struggle internally with the idea of playing hookey from work to soak up some fresh air. Last week, we tried our level best to get you to participate in ITALP and incorporate pirate-lingo into your football spectating. This week, we are shamelessly paying homage to boytoy seeking older bitches the illustrious University of Houston Cougar football team. Now, they were not "as" illustrious or beloved (this is "fickle-sports fans Houston", after all) prior to pulling off a win against OSU, in Stillwater - who happened to be ranked 5, BEFORE they lost to our un-ranked Coogs. We are on the hunt for a ticket for tomorrow's game (don't hurt yourself laughing at us, we are dead serious, here), should you know where we might purchase one, or more.

On that note, and without further adieu, we bring you the "cosmo-eque" Cougar (damn if it doesn't sound like we're sport fishing at the H.S. football locker room, we like 'em older, really):

Cougar Cocktail

2 oz. Vodka
1 oz Cranberry Juice
1 oz Cointreau
Splash of lime (ie. squeeze wedge, drop in drank after it's all mixed)

Chill a martini glass by filling it with crushed ice. Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with.......yep, crushed ice. Shake to your hearts content. Dump said ice out of martini glass. Strain contents of shaker into glass, do that lime thing we mentioned earlier. Sip.

Warning: too many of these may cause you to, um, shall we say "nap" before the game has reached its conclusion (which would make you a dumbass-ish). Drink responsibly and don't let us find out you rooted for the "wrong" team, unless that's your alma mater, then......well, we're sorry for you it's perfectly okay (Crabtree should have stayed to get his degree, he's being a bit of a pompous idiot, in our humble opinion).
