H-Town Rock

For the Week of September 28th - 30th, 2009

skellogand6ers.jpg Did you have a crazy, music-filled weekend, Houston? We sure did, and we don't see why it should have to stop once Monday rolls around. Houstonist humbly presents your concert calendar for the next few days.

Monday finds local hardcore legends Insect Warfare playing at The Mink, and apparently a Meridian filled with juggalos. We'll respectfully pass and drop in to Warehouse Live to catch Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers, but probably won't stay for Carbon Leaf. Sorry fellas, it's just how it goes sometimes.

There's a pretty good metal show at The Meridian on Tuesday, including locals Before There Was Rosalyn - who recently signed to Victory Records [congratulations guys!], but we're more tempted by the batch of over-the-top ridiculous that'll be served out at Warehouse Live. You just can't pass up big foam costumes and fake blood.

We'll polish off this stretch with a relaxing Wednesday, and catch Robert Ellis at his new residency gig at Mango's. Things will get crazy next door at Avant Garden when IHeartComix's Totally Michael shows up to party. Since it happens to be on our way home, we'll make sure to pop in to Super Happy Fun Land and see Weatherbox before calling it a night.

How about it, Houston - where will you be?
