October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and there are and have been many annual events to raise monies to increase awareness, research a cure and provide aid and services to those who are fighting this disease. As we've mentioned previously, almost everyone has a friend or relative that has been touched by breast cancer, hopefully they are survivors, but sadly that is not always the case. There are things you can do throughout the year, as you purchase housewares, gifts and many other products to continue to contribute to the cause. We are providing you with a list of places to shop and special items that you can incorporate into your shopping, particularly as you search for that perfect gift, to continue contributing.
Shopping List:
Prismera Design: Pearls for a Cure Necklace (only available in October)
Breast Cancer Store (lots of goodies, reasonable prices and available 24/7/365)
Pink Ribbon Gift Store (jewelry, apparel, gifts and more 24/7/365)
Real Beauty online (a large assortment of products/manufacturers)
Hard Rock Cafe - Pinktober Products (yep, only in October)
Angela Moore, Custom Jeweler (not as pricey as we thought it would be...cute stuff)
Ann Taylor: ANN Cares Card and ANN Cares T-shirt
Frederick's of Hollywood: Hollywood Extreme Cleavage (October only)
eDressMe (Clothing Special - October Only - all pink dresses)
KitchenAid Products: Cook for the Cure
Denise Hazen: Treat Her Like a Princess
Crave Cupcakes (Super Yummy and Super Limited - go, hurry, bring us a box, too)
Cleavage Creek Wines: Available Online
These are only a few selections, when you visit your favorite retailer (in person or on-line) have a quick look-see at their products with charitable contributions associated with them. Check the price of the item being sold for a cause and the cost of the same item without the donation - it may be that the "cause product" is marked up much more than the actual donation amount from the purchase (yeah, the words "rude", "wrong" and "jackass" come to mind - but, stranger things have happened). If you find that to be the case, a straight donation to the Breast Cancer charity of your choice is your best option.
