Houston gets a bad rap, environmentally. But the Shell Center for Sustainability (no irony there) is hoping to change that by addressing the question of how to provide clean water to the city of Houston for the next 100 years.

Today's day-long Water Sustainability Conference features national and local experts on Houston’s sustainable development, growth, natural environment, water, health, and the policies that can make a difference. Talks are going on throughout the day, and there is also an exhibit dedicated to water and what it means to local artists.

Best of all, the entire event is free and open to the public.

Houston Water Sustainability Conference
Admission: Free
Date and Time: Until 5 p.m. today
