Weekend-ist: October 30 through November 1

You know all those other blogs are going to have plenty of ideas for how to spend your Halloween weekend. But some of us here at Houstonist, we're like the Grinch, but for October. Here are the best non-Halloween events going on this weekend. Humbug!

SUNDAY

  • Noon to 10 p.m. — Celebrate Houston festival, celebrating the city's diversity with music, food and crafts. Tickets are free. At Tlaquepaque Market Plaza.

  • 2-6 p.m. — Dakota Rescue Fundraiser at Bohemeo's. Each year the Dakota Rescue put out a calendar of local musicians with their dogs. Musicians performing include Musicians are Norma Zenteno, Ezra Charles, Sisters Morales, and Tommy Dardar.
