2009 Thanksgiving "Thank You" Meals Project

This Thanksgiving, we have a lot to be thankful for - if you just think about it, blessings are all around us. We are thankful for our readers, our family and friends, health and a bounty of turkey and all of the trimmings. Not everyone is as fortunate, so this is a perfect time to give back. This year, you can give a "Thank You" to a wounded or disabled member of our armed services and their family. Your donation is tax-deductible and will provide meals for families who are not only in need, but, have given of themselves for our country.

To help provide a holiday meal for wounded troops and perhaps send a get well card, please click the link here. Houstonist wishes you all a wonderful holiday and reminds you to think beyond the turkey or ham, or tofurkey with dressing and green bean casserole and enumerate those things that you are truly thankful or grateful for (besides homemade pie and a full day of parades and football).
