For the week of December 7th - 9th, 2009
Hopefully the snow last weekend didn't keep you from seeing some music. If it did, fear not - Houstonist has all the information you need in order to make up for it, right here.
While metal abounds downtown and out in the boonies on Monday, we'll be opting for the artful collective known as The Manichean, who'll be playing at Avant Garden. Seriously folks, do yourselves a favor and catch them, even if only for the violin player's proficiency.
Tomorrow Houstonist might stumble over to Meridian and catch us a metal show, since we passed on it the night before. However, if we summon up the courage [attn: booze, we're talking to you], we'll head over to Walter's to find out if Jay Reatard will be peeing on anyone. Oh, and we'll catch The Energy, as we find them to be quite good.
We'll be hitting a midweek high by catching Life Is Happy & Sad, the new Daniel Johnston play by Jason Nodler of Catastrophic Theater. If we were headed out for a show, however, we'd put our money on The Hundred Days, who'll be at Super Happy Fun Land. Who knows, if the show gets out early enough we just might be there.
